Finding the Property

Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport lies about seventy kilometres east, but it has very few regular flights. Most visitors arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport near Colombo, around two hundred kilometres away, a trip of about three and a half hours via the Southern Expressway.

The expressway extension reaches Hambantota, with the Beliatta interchange closest to Tangalle. This makes travel from Colombo and Galle much faster than the old coastal road. The resort offers airport transfers for an extra charge.

Buses on the coastal route connect Tangalle with Matara, Galle and Colombo frequently, and the train line from Colombo ends at Beliatta, about fifteen kilometres inland. From there, tuk tuks and taxis cover the final stretch.

Yala National Park, famous for leopards, is about one and a half hours east through Tissamaharama, and Udawalawe, known for elephants, is around two hours north. Safaris start early, so the resort can arrange a pre dawn pickup.

Locally, tuk tuks are the main transport, with PickMe available for fixed prices. Scooter rental allows free exploration of the coast for confident riders, though road discipline in Sri Lanka requires caution.
